Announcement 1.0.0.Beta8

What’s New?

  • HTTP port blocks until deployment is finished

  • Support for external, environment specific properties

  • Support for @ConfigValue injection in CDI contexts

  • Support for expressions in config API (i..e ${database.connection.url})

  • Introduce a MySQL JPA fraction

HTTP port blocks until deployment is finished

The HTTP endpoints now accept and hold connection until the deployments are finished. This prevents the situation that did lead to a 404 when you’ve try to access the HTTP before the service is fully available.

Environment specific properties

It’s now possible to extract environment specific properties into an external file:

project-stages.yml
logger:
    level: DEBUG
swarm:
  port:
    offset: 10
---
project:
    stage: development
logger:
    level: DEBUG
swarm:
  port:
    offset: 50

The properties can be accessed from subsystem, fraction and application level configuration and allow you to bootstrap the container with a flag indicating which properties should be used in a specific environment (-Dswarm.project.stage=<name>).

JaxrsResource.java
@ApplicationScoped
@Configured
public class JaxrsResource {

    @ConfigValue("email.from")
    String emailFrom;

    @ConfigValue("application.timeout.ms")
    Integer timeoutMS;

    @ConfigValue("application.compoment.debug")
    Boolean debugEnabled;

    [...]
}
